A Note From Our Pastor:
In the past few months I have been learning a lot more about Mt. Olive and a little about Gardendale. Taking a close look at a couple of communities that surround GracePoint we have some opportunities to connect with some of our neighbors especially as the holidays quickly approach.
On Sunday, November 30 we will gather for worship on the first Sunday of Advent and prepare for the season of Christmas. On this same day, at 4:30 PM we will invite our friends and neighbors to join us on this Advent journey with a Lighting of the Chrismon Tree. This is a unique opportunity for GracePoint to be the only place in Mt. Olive for a community tree lighting. Along the way we will sing some hymns and carols and most importantly gather together with some hot cocoa. So the next time you hear someone say, “I’m just not ready for Christmas,” remind them neither are you. It is why we live into the Season of Advent and invite them to Advent at GracePoint at Mt. Olive.
